Our first thoughts of Val were of gardens and baking. There always seemed to be delicious baking smells of cakes and bread in the house. Also, she always created a beautiful garden wherever she and Pete lived, including their home in Queen Street, where, on our last visit we spent a lovely day sitting with her and Pete in the sun, drinking and chatting and admiring everything she had done. Even though we didn’t see her often we enjoyed her company very much and will miss her.
